FM 101
Power, Malawi's 1st independent radio station, was opened by His Excellency the
State President Dr. Bakili Muluzi on 1st October 1998. FM 101 is a station
devoted to music and lifestyle, whose programs bring together content from
across the world, breaking the barriers to offer listeners and advertisers an
alternative radio station. Power 101 transmits a range of popular culture,
Reggae, Hip-Hop, Soul, Highlife and other African music genres, 24 hours a day,
7 days a week. Our commitment and knowledge of music has assisted in developing
a core audience of 15 - 35 year old listeners, thus becoming the most
influential radio station in Malawi.
FM 101 is more than just a radio station, it is an integral part of Malawian lifestyle with the latest music, up to date local and international news, informative interviews on health, education and business features, as well as exciting entertainment and sports coverage.
Apart from broadcasting,
FM 101 Power is also involved in community initiatives such as supporting
street children and orphanage care centres, promoting sports activities among
the youth and numerous HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. FM 101 Power is successful
in reaching the Malawian youth culture. |
